How therapy works with me

I aim to create a warm, collaborative space in which you can open up at your own pace.

Beginning
We start with a free initial conversation to explore what brings you to therapy and whether working together feels right. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to work on – we can discover that together.

Sessions
Sessions are 55 minutes and take place weekly, at the same day and time where possible. This regularity helps create continuity and a dependable space for the work.

What happens in a session?
How we work depends on you and what is most useful. I draw on different therapeutic approaches within a Core Process and relational framework.

We may explore current experiences, recurring patterns or earlier events, while also paying attention to your emotional, physical and relational experience in the moment.

The relationship matters
Trust develops over time, and what happens between us can sometimes help illuminate familiar ways of relating.

You are always welcome to question, disagree or tell me if something doesn’t feel right.

Location
In-person sessions take place in a quiet therapy centre in North London, close to Finsbury Park. Online sessions are also available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know exactly what I want to work on?

No. You may have a clear issue or simply know that something needs attention. We can find the focus together.

Will we spend lots of time talking about my childhood?

Not necessarily. We may explore earlier experiences when they help us understand what is happening now.

Is therapy mainly talking?

Talking is important, but we may also pay attention to emotions, bodily experience, silence and what is happening in the present moment.

How long will therapy take?

It varies. Some people want focused short-term work; others benefit from a longer process. We review this together.

What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?

That is part of the purpose of the initial conversation. We can talk about what you are looking for and whether this way of working feels right.
